At the Pontifical Villas in Concert Together, the Band of the Gendarmerie and the Pontifical Swiss Guard Band

For the first time, the Band of the Gendarmerie Corps and the Band of the Pontifical Swiss Guard will perform together. The wind and percussion ensemble will take place in the courtyard of the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo on Monday, September 29, at 8:00 p.m., on the feast of the Patron Saint of Vatican City State, Saint Michael the Archangel.

The event is part of the series “Music at the Museums – Jubilee 2025”, organized in collaboration between the Directorate of Museums and Cultural Heritage and the Directorate of the Pontifical Villas of the Governorate of Vatican City State, together with the Italian National Music Committee (CIDIM). It is among the cultural events of the Jubilee 2025, celebrating the sharing of artistic beauty and the universality of the language of music.

The Band of the Gendarmerie Corps is conducted by Maestro Stefano Iannilli and coordinated by Deputy Commissioner Mauro Colaiacomo, while the Band of the Pontifical Swiss Guard is conducted by Maestro François Fournier.

The program includes the entrance march Open Road by Martin Carron, Pilgrims of Hope – Hymn of the Jubilee 2025 by Francesco Meneghello and Pierangelo Sequeri, Arromanches by Albert Edward Kelly, Stars and Stripes by John Philip Sousa, The Great Little Army by Kenneth J. Alford, Life Is Beautiful by Nicola Piovani, Jubilee by Urs Gehrig and Philippe Müller, My Way by Jacques Revaux, Alperose by Hanery Amman, the Finale Allegro from William Tell by Gioachino Rossini, Semper Fidelis by John Philip Sousa, and concluding with the Pontifical Anthem by Charles François Gounod.
